For intergroups and service bodies
Meeting Finder shows the meetings your service body already publishes, as you publish them, and sends people back to you for anything you need to change. This page explains how.
How your meetings get in
We read published meeting lists, the same ones meeting finders on service-body websites use:
- AA — a JSON feed in the open
Meeting Guide format. If your site uses the
12 Step Meeting List plugin for WordPress, you already have one at
/wp-admin/admin-ajax.php?action=meetings. Code for Recovery's Google Sheets feeds work too. - NA — your region's BMLT root server, through the worldwide BMLT server list.
Each list is read about twice a day, with a request that names us
(MeetingFinder/1.0 (+https://meeting-finder.com/intergroups)), and only when it has changed do we read
it in full. A meeting you remove disappears from the app after it has been missing from your list twice in a row.
Is your list missing?
Email info@meeting-finder.com with your website's address. If you publish a Meeting Guide feed or use BMLT, we can usually add you the same day. If your feed is set to share only with Meeting Guide, we will ask before reading it.
Corrections
Every meeting in the app says which service body listed it. "Report a correction" sends people to your feedback address or your website, because only you can change your list. We also keep a count of reports so we can tell you when a listing looks out of date.
Contact details and anonymity
We never fetch or store the contact names, phone numbers or email addresses of members, even when a list includes them. We keep your service body's public name, website and feedback address, so people can reach you.
Leaving Meeting Finder
If you would rather your meetings were not listed, email us and we will stop reading your list and remove its meetings the same day.
